Using Motovexa

What is a VIN and where do I find it?

A Vehicle Identification Number is a unique 17-character code for each vehicle. You can find it on the driver-side dashboard (visible through the windshield), on the sticker inside the driver-side door jamb, and on your registration, title or insurance card.

Which vehicles are supported?

Vehicles with a 17-character VIN (model year 1981 and later) built for the U.S. market. Recall, rating and fuel-economy data come from U.S. sources and may be missing for some vehicles, especially older, imported or commercial ones.

Is Motovexa free?

Yes. Every feature is free and there is no subscription or sign-up. The app shows a small number of ads to stay free.

Do I need an internet connection?

Vehicle lookups need the internet. Your garage, records, OBD2 code explainer, warning-light guide and checklist work offline.

Recalls & vehicle data

Does a listed recall mean my exact car is affected?

Not necessarily. Recalls are published for a make, model and year, and a campaign may cover only some vehicles. Use “Check this exact VIN” in the app (nhtsa.gov) or ask an authorized dealer to confirm.

Are recall repairs free?

Safety-recall repairs are generally performed free of charge by authorized dealers when your vehicle is covered by the campaign. Confirm with the manufacturer or dealer.

Where does the data come from?

NHTSA vPIC (VIN decoding), NHTSA Recalls and NCAP Safety Ratings, and FuelEconomy.gov (U.S. DOE/EPA). Motovexa is independent and not affiliated with these agencies or with any manufacturer.

Does Motovexa show accident or title history?

No. Motovexa is not a vehicle history report. Accident, title, ownership and odometer history require licensed paid data sources.

Garage, notifications & privacy

Where are my garage and records stored?

On your phone only. There is no account and we cannot see your records. If your phone backup is on, they may be included in your Google or iCloud backup.

How do recall alerts work?

When you open Motovexa, it checks the cars in your garage for newly published recalls and notifies you once per new recall. Service reminders use the intervals and odometer readings you enter.

How do I turn off notifications?

In Motovexa → Settings, turn off New recall alerts, Service reminders or News & updates — or disable notifications for Motovexa in your phone settings.

How do I delete my data?

Settings → Delete all data, or uninstall the app. See the Data Deletion page.
